S+G DESIGNS PUBLIC REALM IN GREENWICH

In February 2017, Santiago Calatrava revealed the £1-billion Peninsula Place project near the River Thames on the Greenwich Peninsula. The building is a part of a greater £8.4-billion regeneration site totaling 150 acres, currently the largest regeneration project in the United Kingdom. The project is slated to include 15,720 homes, a film studio, a new design district, schools, offices, and healthcare services.

Appointed as public realm designers by developer Knight Dragon, Schulze+Grassov have been tasked to address the surrounding public spaces serving Calatrava’s 1.4m square foot development on top of the North Greenwich tube station. With a history of expertise in urban space strategies for the public realm, the office will be responsible for laying out site-wide strategies for a robust public interface with high quality open spaces.
