Welcome to LA
On an urban site at the intersection of the I-10 and I-110 freeways in Downtown Los Angeles AEG Entertainment has developed a plan to expand the existing LA Live District into a much larger Convention- and Entertainment District. The vision saw AEG refurbishing the LA Convention Centre and build a new 72.000 seater NFL Stadium that could be used for Soccer World Cup Finals and the next Olympic Games in LA.
Schulze+Grassov has helped the developer to deliver a pedestrian-friendly public space plan that demonstrates how up to 300.000 campus users per day could get safely and comfortably to and from major sport and exhibition events. The stadium was envisioned be the first LEED certified NFL Stadium in the US with focus on public transit, walking and bicycling as the preferred options for visitor access. Talks to move an NFL team to the location are no longer pursued by AEG at present.
